July 21, 2025 - Venice (Fusina), Italy

Venice has started to discourage tourists by not allowing cruise ships docking at Venice Port. It forced all cruise ships to dock at Fusina Ferry Terminal.  Based on Azamara, it is very difficult to get to Venice from Fusina.  Therefore, they arranged a ferry boat ride to help their passagers traveled from Fusina to Venice.  It costs an additional 99 Euros per person.  Since there is no other easy way to travel to Venice, we had to pay 99 Euros per person to visit Venice.

The ferry boat from Fusina to Venice was terrible which made you felt like a prison sitting in lower deck with poor ventilation.  The returning ferry was OK.  On the morning ferry ride, I couldn’t help to think about what if all tourists refuse to visit Venice due to their attitude toward tourist, I am not sure Venice can survive.

The ferry took us to San Marco Square.  In a few minutes of walking toward San Marco Square, we already experienced the canals, gondolas, and bridges.

We took quite many photos in San Marco Square including Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), San Marks Basilica (Basilica De San Marco), and St Mark's Bell Tower (San Marco Campanile).

When we strolled on the Calle Frezzaria, we found a leather shop with all kinds of leather bags and belts.  We did quite a lot of shopping there.

Then we walking toward the famous Rialto Bridge, known for its stunning architecture and as a key tourist attraction.  We had many Kodak moments there.

Later, we found a nearby restaurant for lunch.  The food was OK, but the view was tremendous (having the full view of Rialto Bridge right in front of you.  Without any in-depth research on food in Venice, this was the best we can do.  It was enjoyable.

After that we did more shopping and wandering around the canals and narrow alleys.  It was a please afternoon.  Our ferry was scheduled for 3:45pm, so we had to end our tour for Venice and got back to ferry pier for another 45 minutes ferry back to Pursuit.

There was A Night At The Opera show.  However, we had to pack to get ready for our de-embarkment in the early morning.  So we did not go.
